Kitchen & Dining room remodel, 2005, Kirkland

This home's original kitchen, essentially unchanged since the original 1984 construction, was due for a renovation. The clients wanted more functionality out of their kitchen area – more counter and cabinet space, a burst of color and texture, and above all ease of everyday use. They wanted a cozy kitchen commensurate with their modest cooking skills.

The new kitchen used every available inch for cabinet and counter space. Seven linear feet of counter space were added to the kitchen along with corner pivot systems, full extension drawers, and roll out shelves. Additionally, the height of the upper cabinets was extended to three feet. Altogether, these improvements nearly doubled the usable storage and counter space.
